This is your penultimate reminder. You now have exactly enough time to finish 218 pages of the book Washinton Post calls "diabolically sharp." I'll see you at the benches near the concrete rounds during lunch on Friday (2/18, Day 5).

"This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time."
"The projectionist booth is soundproof because inside the booth is the racket of sprockets snapping film past the lens at six feet a second, ten frames a foot, sixty times a second snapping through, clattering Gatling-gun fire." - Fight Club, p. 27
The book is even cooler.
So why not spend a couple hundred of those minutes reading Fight Club? Nothing else is going on.

Three Weeks Left...
...to read Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk.
Length: The paperback is 214 pages long. (The book is also available at the library and e-book format).
Summary: The unnamed insomniac protagonist attends support group meetings for people with grievious illnesses. At one of these meetings, he meets Marla, and then Tyler Durden. With Tyler, he founds Fight Club, a place where office workers fight "for as long as they have to." And then the mayhem escalates.
Warnings: This book includes something to offend everyone. In the first 30 pages alone, there's brutal violence, cruelty, and a description of splicing pornography with family films. The movie of this book is rated R. Please think before you read.
Read an excerpt: here.
Recommended because: It's iconic. It's Catcher in the Rye for our generation. It's been made into a movie. It's a demonstration of the extremes of masculinity. It's short and provocative.
The first rule about fight club is you don't talk about fight club. I'm going to break that rule on Friday, February 18 (Day 5). If you show up too, we could break the rule together.
